The company

Plexus is partnered with one of the highest-volume consumer trading platforms on Solana. It’s a revenue-generating business with nine figures in annual revenue and hundreds of thousands of users. After growing fast since launch, the company is now building a full multichain trading suite, with new products, acquisitions and asset classes coming live.

The engineering team is small, senior and in person. Its systems run under constant real-world load, so performance and correctness matter every day.

The role

This is a hands-on Staff role with full ownership of the company’s on-chain programs. You’ll design, build and run Solana programs that handle serious transaction volume, from first design through to deployment, monitoring and iteration.

What you’ll do

• Design and build high-performance Solana programs in Rust
• Optimise compute, account layouts and transaction flows for latency and throughput
• Own correctness, security and safe upgrades in a live production environment
• Define clean boundaries between on-chain and off-chain systems with backend and frontend engineers
• Shape protocol design, economic mechanics and system constraints
• Ship changes quickly and see them used by a large live user base

What you’ll bring

• Production Solana programs in Rust that have run at real scale, with real users, sustained volume and operational pressure
• Hands-on experience with performance bottlenecks, edge cases and failure modes that only show up at scale
• A security-first mindset for adversarial environments
• The judgement to make sound calls independently, even with incomplete information

Nice to have

• Experience with trading systems, exchanges or other high-throughput infrastructure
• A background in low-latency or high-frequency environments
