SOFTWARE ENGINEER – $185–250k – On-site NYC Plexus has partnered with a high-performance crypto trading platform building advanced infrastructure for Hyperliquid, enabling users to trade perps, prediction markets, swaps, and spot from a unified balance. The goal is to eliminate bridges, fragmented collateral, and multi-frontend complexity to create a seamless, retail-friendly trading experience with institutional-grade performance. Position Overview: They are seeking a Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Platform team, responsible for building the scalable, low-latency systems that power next-generation trading on Hyperliquid. You will work across compute, storage, networking, and developer tooling to support a world-class trading experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop services and automation that deliver speed and reliability in real-time environments.
- Deploy and manage compute resources and containers for custom services and integrations.
- Automate scaling, load balancing, and congestion control across compute and database layers.
- Build CI/CD pipelines enabling continuous deployment, rollback, and delivery.
- Monitor and tune CPU, memory, I/O, and network performance for maximum throughput.
- Build indexing and explorer services for fast, expressive, live data channels.
- Provision and optimize database systems for time series, SQL, key-value, and in-memory workloads.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years building production-grade infrastructure in cloud or on-prem environments.
- Strong scripting skills in Rust and other low-level or systems languages.
- Deep experience with compute management (EC2/VMs) and/or container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, load balancers, NAT, VPN, network security).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong experience with time-series databases (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB) and key-value stores (DynamoDB, Redis).
- Performance profiling experience under high load.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
