Senior Protocol Engineer

Plexus is looking for a Senior Protocol Engineer, you’ll design and build the core programs that power the smart account infrastructure. This role involves crafting secure, composable, and efficient on-chain systems that define how developers and users interact with programmable accounts on Solana.

Responsibilities:

• Build Solana programs using both native and framework-based (e.g., Anchor) approaches.

• Craft CU-efficient systems through state compression, PDA optimization, and advanced runtime strategies.

• Define protocol-level architecture, from account abstraction primitives and transaction execution models to multi-program composability.  

• Connect with external protocols and payment systems while maintaining rock-solid security.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of production Rust experience in systems programming.

• 2+ years building Solana programs (Anchor or native).

• Deep understanding of the Solana runtime, account model, and nested transaction execution.

• Proven track record designing multi-program architectures and efficient state systems.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience building Rust REST APIs (e.g., Axum).

• Familiarity with Pinocchio or low-level Solana syscall libraries.

• Contributions to open-source Solana tooling or protocols.

• Background in account abstraction or intent-based systems.
