Senior Backend Engineer

Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer Location: Remote (CET-IST) 

Plexus has partnered with a high growth Web3 trading infrastructure company building next generation decentralized trading products and is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the team.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems across realtime trading, distributed infrastructure, and Web3. You’ll own features end to end and work closely with engineering teams to build critical backend systems powering a high performance trading platform.

What you’ll be doing

• Own backend features from design through deployment and monitoring • Build and scale realtime trading infrastructure, pricing, risk, execution, and settlement systems • Develop backend services using TypeScript/Node.js, APIs, Kafka, Redis, queues, WebSockets, and distributed systems • Integrate with EVM chains, wallets, RPCs, smart contracts, and onchain transaction flows

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments • Strong TypeScript/Node.js experience is essential • Experience with Python, distributed systems, databases, and backend infrastructure • Good understanding of EVM ecosystems and Web3 architecture • Interest in DeFi, trading systems, perpetuals, or fintech products • Comfortable working in a fast moving, high ownership startup environment
