Director of Institutional Relations

Director of Institutional Relations – EU/USA – Remote – Up to $200k Base 

Plexus has teamed up with a digital asset firm building institutional infrastructure across DeFi. With partnerships involving leading players like PayPal, Paxos, and top L1 foundations, they’re scaling fast across four verticals: 

•  Lending & Liquidity Solutions •  Institutional Treasury Management •  Stablecoin Adoption in DeFi •  Structured & Staking Advisory

They are now looking for a Director of Institutional Relations to join their team! 

Responsibilites: 

Managing and Growing Institutional Relationships

• Take ownership of institutional partners after onboarding, including depositors, borrowers, and strategic counterparties.
• Maintain strong relationships that encourage retention, satisfaction, and continued capital allocation of their products. 
• Work alongside the business development team to uncover expansion opportunities, referrals, and new introductions within your network.
• Act as a public-facing representative at industry events, online communities, and direct conversations with major market participants.

Strategic and Operational Leadership

• Collaborate with the CEO and product teams to turn client feedback and market insights into product improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional projects across product, protocol, and operations teams to ensure execution from start to finish.
• Create scalable internal systems for tracking account performance, forecasting renewals, reporting to partners, and improving coordination across teams.

Requirements: 

• At least 3 years of hands-on DeFi experience, with strong knowledge of vaults, lending protocols, liquidity management, and on-chain yield strategies.
• Proven experience managing large or institutional client relationships in crypto, fintech, or financial services.
• An existing network across the crypto ecosystem, such as exchanges, DAOs, family offices, or crypto-native investment firms.
• Solid project management abilities, especially in cross-functional and fast-moving environments.

Nice to Haves

• Experience working at a DeFi lending platform, yield protocol, or vault aggregator.
• Previous leadership or senior IC experience in crypto or fintech startups.
• Deep technical understanding of DeFi protocols and associated risks.
