Role Overview

The company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of its proof-of-reality platform. This is a founding-level role with the opportunity to step into a co-founder position, shaping not only the technology but the long-term direction and culture of the business. The CTO will own end-to-end technical strategy, from early research and prototyping through to production systems operating at scale.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in zero-to-one environments, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and is motivated by solving deep, systemic problems rather than incremental product improvements.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will define and own the company’s technical roadmap, making core architectural decisions across AI systems, identity infrastructure, and verification pipelines. You will lead the design and development of systems for proof of personhood, authenticity verification, and detection of synthetic or manipulated media, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and secure. Working closely with the founding team, you will translate abstract concepts around trust, identity, and reality into concrete, defensible technology.

You will build and lead the engineering function, hiring and mentoring a high-calibre technical team while setting standards for quality, velocity, and research-driven development. You will collaborate deeply with research, product, and external partners to move ideas from theory into deployable systems. As a senior leader, you will also represent the company technically to investors, partners, and the wider ecosystem, helping articulate a clear and compelling technical narrative.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, identity systems, cryptography, or distributed systems, with experience building complex products from early stage through to scale. You may come from a startup, research lab, or advanced engineering team, but you should be comfortable owning decisions end-to-end and operating without heavy structure.

You bring both strategic depth and hands-on ability, with a track record of turning hard technical problems into real-world systems. Clear thinking, strong communication, and intellectual curiosity are essential, particularly around questions of truth, authenticity, and trust in an AI-driven world. An interest in the philosophical and societal implications of the technology, alongside the technical challenge, is a strong plus.
