Backend Engineer (Rust)

Backend Engineer Opportunity Location: UK Based (Remote) Salary: £70k

About the company A technical founding team are building an infrastructure for institutional digital asset trading. They connect liquidity providers, enforce compliance and settle trades across blockchains. They give institutions the speed and transparency to operate in crypto markets. About the Role They are looking for a Backend Engineer to work on the core Rust service. You will be responsible for building systems where latency is important, reliability is a non-negotiable, and the architecture must scale. You will be the third engineer, and will ship production code from day one, working directly with the founders and owning entire subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build high performance rust services
• Working with message cues
• Build and maintain low latency infrastructure
• Own the API design and infrastructure
• Contribute to infrastructure and DevOps

Requirements

• 1-2 years professional experience writing rust
• Computer science degree
• Understand Concurrency, networking, data structure algorithms and system design.
• Infrastructure awareness
• AI native workflow
• Start-up mindset
